About Centre for Waste Management
Environmental pollution and Aesthetic degradation is increasing in such a drastic pace which has lead to serious focus on managing the waste generated. As a part of expanding its research wing Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed to be University) with the joint initiative of the National Solid Waste Association of India (NSWAI) established the Centre for Waste Management in March,2011. Since inception in 2011 Centre has involved itself in research leading to innovative products, developing patent liable novel ideas in Waste Management, publishing the experimental outcomes in indexed/peer reviewed journals, training graduate students, offering consultancy services and involves in several outreach activities in transferring the research findings for societal benefit.
