Centre for Waste Management, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed to be University) organized a One-day Training on Proximate Analysis and Characterization of Biomass for Bio Ethanol Production.

Students/Researchers/Academicians:

The training programme highlighted on proximate analysis (Moisture content, Volatile matter, ash and fixed carbon content), applications of ultimate analysis bulk density, calorific value determination and importance of bio fuels for sustainable environment. And also explained about bioethanol production from various lignocellulosic biomass. Students from Anjalai Ammal Mahalingam Engineering College, Thiruvarur, Sona College of Technology, Chennai, Bishop Heber College, Trichy, Hindusthan College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore and Anbanathapuram Vahaira Charities College of Arts and Sciences, Mayiladuthurai participated and benefited from the programme. The training will be an eye-opener to the participants to the various facilities the Centre for Waste Management, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology has in the field of biomass characterization and bioethanol production, creating interests in the participants to do internships, projects in the alternate fuel domain.

Around 23 students from Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, SNS College of Technology Coimbatore, Paavai Engineering College Namakkal, Madha Engineering College Kunrathur and St Joseph Engineering College Chennai participated and benefited from the programme. The training will be an eye-opener to the participants to the various facilities the Centre for Waste Management, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology has in the field of biomass characterization and bioethanol production, creating interests in the participants to do internships, projects in the alternate fuel domain.

Around 30 students from Annamalai University, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering, Perambalur, Paavai Engineering College Namakkal and Kongu Engineering College participated and benefited from the programme

Students/Researchers/Academicians:

Around 23 students from Annamalai University, Chidamparam, Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science, Puducherry and Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering Perambalur participated and benefited from the programme.

The programme was conducted on 21st June, 2022 at biofuel lab, Centre for waste management.

Students/Researchers/Academicians:

A student from the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology and a research scholar from Pachaiyappa's College, Chennai, participated in the programme.

Students/Researchers/Academicians:

There were seven students from Rajalakshmi engineering collage and three research scholars from the Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, participated in the programme.

Students/Researchers/Academicians:

About fourty-one participants who benefited from the training programme. The institutions include Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology; Paavi Engineering College, Namakkal; Periyar University, Selam; Gojan School of Business and Technology, Chennai; Savitha Engineering College, Chennai; Savitha School of Engineering, Chennai and St. Xaviers Catholic College of Engineering, Nagercoil.

Students/Researchers/Academicians:

Around six students from Saranathan College of Engineering, Trichy, SSN College of Engineering, Chennai and Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai participated and benefited from the programme.
