Mr. A. Santhosh has completed B.Sc. (2011) in chemistry from Muthurangam Govt Arts College, M.Sc (2014) in Chemistry from Erode Arts College, M.Phil (2016) in chemistry from Muthurangam Govt Arts College and pursuing Ph.D (2017) in Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology. He joined as a Project Fellow in Centre of Excellence for Energy Research (MHRD funded project), Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology in 2nd May 2015.
He was further selected as Junior Research Fellow in the project entitled "Biodiesel Production from Waste Cooking Oil and Wash water recovery, recycle and reuse – A Zero Liquid Discharge Approach" in the Centre of Excellence for Energy Research. On the whole he has an experience of over 4 years in the field of Biodiesel production, testing and wastewater management. During his term he has handled bio-fuel characterization equipment and is familiar in operating and maintenance of the 50 L capacity pilot plant for production of biodiesel from waste cooking oil, pongamia oil and several edible and non-edible oils, animal fat etc, He has handled YL-CLARITY 6500 GC-FID/TCD system for composition analysis and purity determination of biodiesel and other biofuels including bioethanol and biohydrogen produced in the laboratory. His research experience extends to biodiesel wastewater assessment for measuring properties including pH, turbidity, oil and grease, total solid, BOD and COD. He has gained expertise in synthesizing activated carbon from food waste, waste materials and is Trained 20 L to 500 L capacity biodiesel pilot plant startup company. He has conducted 48 training programs and trained around 185 participants from various colleges and Startup companies. He has published food waste activated carbon using biodiesel washwater treatment paper in journals like water science and technology. Currently he is designated as project Coordinator for STI-HUB DST from April 2022 onwards.
