Centre for Waste Management, Centre of Excellence for Energy Research, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology organized a "One Day National Conference on Low Carbon Materials (CarES 2024)" on April 22, 2024 in association with Carbon Craft, Hubli, Karnataka, commemorating World Earth Day.The national conference was an inspiring event that brought together experts, enthusiastic academicians, and industrial professionals to raise awareness about environmental issues and explore sustainable solutions by research activities. Dr P Nagaraaj (Department of Chemistry, Anna University, Chennai) and Tajuddin Ansari (Research and Material Engineer, Carbon Craft, Hubli were the eminent speakers in the conference who delivered lectures on the recent trends in carbon capturing and sequstering and making low carbon sustainable environment. Around 60 participants from 10 institutions including Anna University, Mahendra engineering College, Pondichery University, SRM Institute of Science and Technology and Amal Jothi engineering college, Kerala attended the conference and presented their research work in the technical forum and made their deliberations in the conference. The oral presentations were held in both online and offline mode during the conference. Dr P Kuppusamy delivered the Valedictory address and highlighted the importance of earth day. The book of abstracts with ISBN Number was released during the valedictory function. The winners of the paper presentations were rewarded with cash prizes and appreciation certificates. All the participants and presenters were provided with participation certificates.
