Mr. Alagar K
Alagar K is a dedicated biotechnology professional currently serving as a Project Associate at the Centre for Waste Management, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. He is actively involved in a Department of Science and Technology (DST) funded research project titled "Biofilm Engineering Methods for Enhancing the Performance of Microbial Fuel Cells," under the guidance of Dr. Sathish Kumar R.
Alagar holds an M.Tech in Biotechnology from Anna University, Chennai, and has experience in microbial fuel cell (MFC) research, focusing on wastewater treatment, power generation, and bioremediation. He also has a background in quality control, having worked in the BCG vaccine production unit at GreenSignal Biopharma Private Limited. Additionally, Alagar has presented research at multiple national and international conferences and received recognition as a team advisor in the prestigious iGEM 2023 competition.
With interests in environmental biotechnology, microbiology, and bioprocess development, Alagar aims to contribute to sustainable solutions through scientific research. His technical expertise includes bioreactor operations and the microbial production of vitamin B12. In his personal time, he pursues yoga and has achieved awards in the state, national and international competitions.
