Dr. Sathish Kumar Ramachandran is an Environmental Engineer with 8 years of academic and research experience. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Master of Engg. in Environmental Engineering from Alagappa Chettiar Govt. College of Engineering & Technology, Karaikudi and B. Tech in Biotechnology from PREC, Thanjavur (affiliated to Anna University). He is presently designated as an Associate Professor at the Centre for Waste Management, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology and leads a DST SEED sponsored project.
During his doctoral thesis, he has joined as a Research Associate in DST, India- MST, South Korea Bilateral project and worked on Quorum Quenching mediated approach for curtailing the biofouling in polymeric membranes during the wastewater treatment. While working as a Research Associate in NIT Trichy, his research team received a Carbon Zero Challenge start-up grant of Rs. 5,00,000/- from IIT-Madras to fabricate the membrane distillation module. He is an expert in fabrication of thin film membranes, Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration, and Reverse osmosis, Water and Wastewater treatment, Polymer modifications, Biopolymeric composites, and Polymeric nanomaterial synthesis. He has published 19 research papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and 5 book chapters. He has also presented his scientific inventions at various International and National Conferences.
